Mission Santa Rosa Archangel By Kennedy

By the time we got to Mission San Rafael Archangel, the museum was closed but the church was open.  So far this is the only mission that has the bells not on the building.

The walls and altar do not have many decorations.

The special thing about this mission is that when they built the church they expected it to be a church, not a mission. Now it is a mission. These paintings were made for the mission when it was rebuilt in 1949.

Father Junipero Serra helped build every mission and this is a statue of him.

Mission San Rafael Archangel. By Landry

Mission San Rafael Archangel has two bells.

The church at this mission is very small.

The mission has nothing left from the original building because it was rebuilt in 1949. This was the twentieth mission built. When this mission was built it was meant to be a church that's why it is not in the shape of a quadrangle.

On the side of the mission is a statue of Father Junipero Serra. Today this mission is used as a school.

Racing in Santa Rosa by Kennedy

This weekend we went to Santa Rosa to run a 5k.  At Fresh Choice I got dark chocolate kisses in an ice cream cone.  When I set it down it spilled all over the floor.

At the Santa Rosa 5k, we were freezing before we ran. It looked like a good route to run.

At the end we got a medal after,we ran we went to get some pancakes at the end.

Out of the age group 9-12 females, I was first out of the girls. I came in 9th place overall.

I Got a PR! By Landry

There was one day left before the Santa Rosa Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k. My sister, dad and I were all running the 5k.

We ate dinner at Fresh Choice. Here I am eating ice cream!

My dad, Kennedy, and I stood in front of the starting line before the 5k race began.

All three of us got medals for finishing our races. Our mom ran the half marathon. She ran with a big cramp in her calf.

We took a picture with the conductor from the Peanuts. Charles Schultz was the creator of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts. He lived and died in Santa Rosa.

I finished the race and we found my time on the computer. I came in 3rd place in my age group. I set a new personal record (PR).

Our Trip to Lake Tahoe - by Kennedy

At the Squaw Valley Village we were waiting for the tram.

This is the map of Squaw Valley. It shows the path for skiing and other paths.

Up on the trail is a great view to see skiing routes.

We went to the museum and stood on the podium. We were proud of the USA.

Travis Ganong is a friend of the family brother. He skied in the Olympics.

When we were at the top of the hill we went rock climbing and I got to the top of all routes.

Trip to Squaw - by Landry

Today we went to the Village at Squaw Valley.

There was a big chair that you can sit on.

We went on the tram and my mom was afraid of heights.

We stood off of the balcony at the building where the tram stops.

Here we are standing off the mountain on our hike.

I got first place as an American and Kennedy got second. Not really.

Our friend Travis Ganing wants to win a medal at the Olympics. He finished 8th in the world but no medal.

This is me climbing. And climbing.  And climbing.

Am I a bad rock climber? Or good? I'm almost doing the splits in this picture.

Rang the bell!

Museum of Art Camp - by Landry

A few weeks ago Kennedy and I went to art camp at the San Jose Museum of Art.

I made a paper mâché hand in the shape of a longhorn.

Kennedy made a hand in the peace sign symbol.

The three of us all chose our handstand be displayed.

Levi's Stadium and The Earthquakes - by Landry

Levi Stadium is huge!

On one the light rail trains, I hung from the handles on the train.

Levi Stadium is where the 49ers play football.

Kennedy and I are standing in front of $1.3 billion dollar stadium!

After the National Anthem, four skydivers landed on the field.

Shea Salinas is my favorite player on the Earthquakes.

Yannick Djalo scored the winning goal for the Earthquakes, the first one ever scored in the stadium.

Great America was having a fireworks show about the time the game ended.

The VTA trains were really messed up and people could barely move.
