San Diego Trip - by Kennedy

Over spring break we flew to San Diego to see our friends skyler and Sloan. Skyler is 13 and we are 11 we all have the same birthday on April 30.

I slept on a mattress in a big closet. They have a cat named Huckleberry and he slept with me on the mattress.

We had a free day so we decided to go to the San Diego Zoo where we saw bats and other animals.

Even though it was raining we still went because we love the rain and it is a part of life.

The flamingos like the rain so they all came out while the worker cleaned their poop.

This is a picture of California biggest bird, the condor.

This is a duck with the softest red head. Surprisingly the duck let me touch his head.

Of course we went to touch the fat goats. When I put my hat in front of its mouth, the goat ate it.

When we went to see Gramma Arizona we went swimming in the rain and they finally opened the slide after waiting a half an hour.

Spring Break Starts Now! By Landry

For spring break we went to stay in San Diego at the Sloane house.

Skyler is Mr. Sloane's daughter. She is thirteen years old and we share the same birthday.

While we were there we all went to the San Diego safari park. It was pouring rain and we had to buy ponchos.

Because it was raining the giraffes were running for cover. I guess they don't like to get wet!

Accident my stuff in a paddle and I had to dry my socks and shoes off with a portable heater.

Will we were walking I decided to take a picture in the egret egg. It was a little bit squishy!

Kennedy and I wanted to be bats. So Kennedy was the baby and I was the mom.

After the zoo we decided to get warm and go in the jacuzzi. Once we got to warm we decided to go on the waterslide!

Urban Scavenger Hunt - by Landry

This is Team Vultures. With my mom, Kennedy, Claudia, Kelly, and I.

We have been best friends with Claudia since preschool.

One our tasks was to get a picture with the fire department and they let us go in front of the truck.

Here we are on the bridge that leads to the Children's Discovery Museum.

Our team came in third place and for our first time it was a blast. We are planning on doing it next year in hopes of getting a better result.

Walden West - by Kennedy

This is the dining hall at Cupertino's Walden West. As you can see everyone is sitting at sorted tables. Everyone got a paper that says their name and the table they are sitting at.

At my table were Gino, Daniel, Alina, Silvia, Jocelyn, and Angelina. The school that also went with our school was LUCHA and our school names were written on a Bennett because we kept Chunky alive. Chunky is the "no waste" food monkey. How it works is that the bucket where they put the wasted food gets so low that Chunky is eaten by the waste gator.

The food was amazingly outstanding and healthy that I happily gained three pounds which is good because I am really skinny. Every table had a cabin leader sitting at it. My cabin leaders were Bumblebee and Phoenix. They were really awesome. The name of my table was Arches. Every table was named with a historical landmark in the UNITED STATES. Also on Thursday night we put up all the tables and chairs and we had a big dance party. Everyone went crazy especially when the main guy put on the Wip and the Nae Nae. The final minutes of camp nearly all the students including me cried because of how amazing the experience was.

Science Camp - by Landry

This week, the fifth graders at my school went to Walden West in Cupertino. It was super fun!!  My favorite part was when we went on the night hike. That was on Wednesday night. The room we are in in this picture is called the Dining Hall. Every meal is eaten in this room.

I was in the Condor Cabin and our cabin leaders were Bumble Bee and Phoenix. My field instructor was Huckleberry. I really enjoyed this experience and had a great time.

( By the way, my nature name was leopard)

Earthquakes! By Kennedy

When we went to the opening earthquakes soccer game at Avaya Stadium, they had games where you play soccer. One of the staff members used to be my science teacher at Third Street Community Center. His name is Edher.

We played a 4 against 4 soccer scrimmage against random kids and I scored 3 goals.

Out of no where popped out one of our soccer teammates, Marina. Marina was going to play soccer with Landry and me  at the stadium but she had to go.

It was a cold opening night at Avaya. Before the game was lots of fireworks.

At half time the Earthquakes were losing 1-0 when we left and then the players fought for the 2-1 win.
