La Purisima Mission is located in Central Californua in a town called Lompoc.
This is the only mission not in the shape of a quadrangle. A few years after the original mission was built, they moved it to this location so it was easier to get to.
The land at this mission was very dry as you can see in the pictures.
In the picture above, you can see a cowhide drying in the sun like they used to 200 years ago.
Inside the church, there were no rows of benches known as pews.
The soldiers used to live in these rope-made beds.
Two churches are at La Purisima. I notice this church doesn't have as many Catholic decorations.
You can see in this picture how the missions were made. They were made with adobe and brick and covered with plaster. The steel beams were used after the earthquake when parts of the mission were repaired.
