Today we picked up Claudia to go to Mission Santa Clara. 

We took pictures of the buildings and we were using them to build them on minecraft. 

When we were going into the church we saw a tree that is in the shape of a circle.  

In the church we took pictures of the statue people. 

We saw a statue of Jesus and his bloody knees.

Camp Cedar Ravine By Kennedy

This weekend at the cabin we went fishing, swimming, shooting a rifle, picnicking and spying on animals.

FISHING: I went fishing with Candice, Ashley and Landry.  We got into the boat and started fishing. Landry caught first fish. I caught the second fish. Candice caught the 3rd fish and Ashley caught the last fish.  We all got a sunfish.

SWIMMING:  On Saturday, Landry and I went in the pond by ourselves.  On Sunday, we went swimming with Ashley, Candice, Uncle Dana, Matt and Travis.

SHOOTING:  While Landry, Ashley, Candice, Matt and Travis were at the store, I made a base to shoot at with a bb gun. I shot at the 100, the can, and the foam cup.

PICNICKING:  When we were at the picnic table, we were playing with wood.  I was trying to make a design on the wood. I had a pocket knife and cut out all the splinters.

SPYING:  We were all spying on deer while they were eating the bird seed.  We also saw baby foxes. At night, the foxes were wrestling up and down the hill.

AT MY CABIN! By Landry

 

This weekend I went to my cabin in Placerville. At my cabin we celebrated Father's Day and we had a special brunch/lunch. 

There are deers everywhere and one of them is pregnant and the other one has already had its babies.

Everyday we were there we went fishing. I caught 30 fish on the whole trip.

I went fishing in a boat with my friends Ashley and Candice. Ashley and Candice are getting married to Matt and Travis who are part of our family. 

I went swimming in the pond with my sister. We have to wear life jackets, even though we know how to swim, because if we went underwater, our dad couldn't see us....and the water is deep.

Finally we left for home in San Jose. The drive from Placerville to San Jose is three hours long.

Box City - By Landry

This week I went to a camp called Box City. At Box City you can make houses or buildings out of cardboard boxes. Box City is at my friend Hazel's house.

There are a bunch of stores. We sell stuff for things called Box City Bucks. My shop was a toy shop but then I didn't get a lot of business so I started selling ice because it was so hot.

Every day except for Thursday and Friday we have a city mayor and we vote. On Monday our mayor was Owen, on Tuesday our mayor was Charlie, and on Wednesday was Hazel. Thursday and Friday are clean up days.

In the San Francisco Chronicle, it showed pictures of Box City. A photographer came, took a bunch of pictures, chose the best ones, and put them in the paper.

Box City is a city made out of cardboard boxes. At Box City, we are able to sell toys and food to the other kids. We buy items with Box City Bucks. We have a new Mayor every day. Monday was Owen, Tuesday was Charlie, Wednesday was Hazel, and Thursday was the clean up day. Friday will be clean up too.

I built a toy shop with Landry. We painted it blue and wrote "Toys" with red paint. We built another house with the mafia base. I don't remember what mafia means. Inside we had a fan and we sold jolly rancher candy.

My favorite part of Box City is cleaning up. You should have a Box City because it is fun and kids are able to learn how to build buildings.  The worst part is trying to sell things because most people say, "No, I don't want to buy it." At the beginning of Box City, you get 10 Box City Bucks no matter what and then you sell more things to get more Box City Bucks.

Claudia's birthday party - by Landry

Today my sister and I went to a girl's birthday party. Her name is Claudia.

At her birthday party we went bowling. We played 2 games. At the end of the party we ate cake.The type of cake was chocolate with strawberries and vanilla with bananas. We have known Claudia since we were 3 months old.

My First Summer Weekend - by Kennedy

This weekend we had a soccer tournament and we were guest playing for our White Team. We won our first game, 2-0. We lost our second game, 6-1. We lost our final game, 2-1. I scored the goals in every game.

At the end of that tournament, we had a birthday party to go to. We went to Claudia's party and went bowling with her. At the end of the party, we went swimming.

Then we went to frozen yogurt. I ordered cookie flavored frozen yogurt with strawberries, bobo balls, mandarin oranges, and peanut butter cups. I didn't eat the peanut butter cups because they tasted bad so I gave them to my Daddy. Kennedy

and it is all weekend. Right now we just finished. We won 2-0 and I scored both. Tonight we have another game.

Welcome to Summer 2014

K and L are headed to 4th grade...but only after a very long summer where their mother plans to torment them with as many activities, camps, and new apps for "learning"...oh yeah...and then there will be the missions of California that they will explore. PLENTY of time this summer to share their learning.

Watch out California...here they come!
